Mission Overview

1) What is Surfing With a Purpose?

It is the concept of Surfers who want to blend their love for surfing with their love for people. In the past we have taken 2 days out of each trip to help a local family. We take on projects according to community needs, so far we have done concrete floors, built a house, installed a well, provided shoes, clothing, food, medicine, and hope. The other 8 days consist of adventure and lots of Surfing.

Donate for a Soft Board

Over the Summer (of 2007) we started teaching free surf lessons for the local children in Las Salinas and a few of the near-by fishing villages. With such a positive response in the community, Surfing With a Purpose is raising funds to purchase 3 Soft Top surfboards. If you would like to get involved, just follow the Google link below or e-mail Danny Cruden with the CONTACT link above. Each donation receives a certificate for a FREE Surf Lesson in Cocoa Beach (with Danny Cruden) to be redeemed by February 2008

Summer Missions Continue in Nicaragua

It was a little sad to leave Antigua and all of our new friends in Guatemalan. The little cobblestone city of Antigua grows on you with its rich culture, friendly people and incredible bakeries. I would recommend visiting Guatemala to anyone and everyone. During our stay we attended the Christian Spanish Academy and stayed with a local family. Check out http://www.learncsa.com/ if you’re interested.
On May 19th Craig Watson and I boarded the bus once again and started our journey back south. The bus ride from Guatemala to Nicaragua passes through El Salvador and Honduras. Since the bus ride last three days, so we decided to stay a few nights in La Libertad, El Salvador to surf the famous right hand point breaks. I won't get into it, but El Salvador is definitely the Wild West. Just stay in your room after dark and if you've never previously prayed to God for protection... it's a great place to begin exercising your faith. If you’re really not into prayer then I would suggest a hand gun and an armed Guard.
On May 22nd (my birthday), we returned to Nicaragua to continue in our mission work and prepare for another team to arrive from Florida. I've begun growing tomatoes and watermelons as the second stage of the Agua Viva well project. The 3rd stage will begin soon as we construct screen rooms for the vegetables and pipe water to the families.

Thank you ALL for your support,
Blessings,
Danny Cruden

Guatemala Photo Gallery

We arrived safely at our Spanish school in Antigua, Guatemala. It is easily one of the most beatiful locations in Central America. It's very safe here in Antugia and is known worldwide for it's increadible markets. We'll be here till May 19th and updating photos every week.
Enjoy!

Nicaragua April 24th

Hey Everyone,
I'm down in Nicaragua at the moment, just finished our first trip for this year. We visited the families in La Pita (where we are digging a well) and they are hanging in there. Most of them were out of food so we did a food run for them yesterday and bought them some new shoes. Some of the Guys brought childrens vitamins and handed those out.
